What are the necessary things that can be done to prevent mesothelima cancers disease? Since the 1970s, the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration have sanctioned the asbestos industry in the U.S.
Lately, asbestos have been used as an insulator and a fire retardant. Other products are now being used in its replacement. But the controversial issue as regerds the exposure to various types of asbestos is still on, and possibly never ends.
The two major types of asbestos are: chrysotile asbestos and amphibole asbestos. It has been said that the exposure to the amphibole type of asbestos is very likely to bring about mesothelioma cancers. However, chrysotile type of asbestos have been frequently used, therefore many malignant mesothelioma have been caused by chrysotile.
Elimination is going in places, in schools and in many different public buildings all across the United States. The anticipation is that these methods and resorts will increasingly decrease the incident of this mesothelioma cancers.
What are the disease’s long-term effects?
A malignant mesothelioma is an aggressive cancer that is all together deadly. Current malignant mesothelioma treatments is inplimented to make the patient with the tumour comfortable. However, the survival for a long period of time is not usually expected, as in the case of this noted instance, Stephen Jay Gould who is famous paleontologist.
The risks of mesothelioma to others:
Mesothelioma cancers are not contagious and is not transmitted from one person to another. The asbestos exposure that resulted into the cancer occurred several years to many decades prior to when the disease surfaced.
The risk of people who live with asbestos workers are higher in getting this cancer.
However, some mesothelioma treatments options could be of help if detected early. Other mesothelioma treatments options will only be used as a palliative care.
