Complementary and optional treatment of mesothelioma includes a wide range of curative philosophies which conventional medicine does not usually make accessible to mesothelioma patients.

A few of these practices include using acupuncture, homeopathy, herbs, Far Eastern medicine, and therapeutic massage for treating health conditions. These therapies could be used singly as an alternative to conventional treatment of mesothelioma, or in combination with conventional treatment of mesothelioma, where they are known as complementary. Most of these therapies are seen as a form of treatment that aims at treating the whole mesothelioma patients - physically, mentally, and psychologically. These treatment of mesothelioma are not extensively taught as part of medical curriculum, are not extensively used in hospitals, and most importantly, are not insured by insurance policies.

Many mesothelioma patients use different complementary and/or alternative medicine treatment during the period of treatment. One important warning, is to report any complementary or alternative treatments you may be thinking about with your doctor in order to ascertain nothing affects normal conventional care. An example is, dietary supplements such as herbs could be natural, but not certainly safe.

Your doctor may be able to give you advise about using complementary and alternative medicine and therapies, and how they are connected to mesothelioma cancers. Combining both complementary and conventional treatment for mesothelioma cancers is at times known as integrative medicine.

Complementary treatments mostly claim to be more efficient against mesothelioma cancers that are incurable.

But it is very essential and vital that you remain in the care of a competent doctor who uses approved types of treatment or who has been involved in scientific-design investigational therapies.
